"I Hear the Truth" feat. Jeff Campbell

"I Hear the Truth" is a new recording which features San Francisco songwriter, and the most recent winner (out of 13,000 entries) of Guitar Center's national singer/songwriter competition, Jeff Campbell on second guitar and harmony. It was recorded live, in a single take, without any performance correcting edits at Sonic Zen Records in Berkeley, California on December 30th, 2012.

The live video of that performance is available for you to view, via our YouTube channel, below.

Additionally, the audio single is available as a free digital download, here:

Year in Review

I'm more likely to discount my accomplishments than delight in them because I am self-defeating. Every supposed success is spoiled by my own solemnity and self-seriousness. That said, in a more private and self-congratulatory moment, I'd readily concede that 2012 was the most productive year of my life.

By far.

Therefore, as both a healthy exercise in self-commendation, and for the sake of posterity, since time is certain to strike out any sense of self-satisfcation soon, I made a list of what were, for me, some of the personal and professional highlights of the year as I experienced it.

You're Going to Die

From Our Mouths is a holiday compilation record from You're Going to Die, a not-for-profit movement intent on bringing people creatively and cathartically into the conversation of death and dying while helping to inspire and empower them out of the context of confronting loss and mortality with abashment.

I've attended nearly every one of YG2D's monthly "poetry, prose, and everything goes" events in San Francisco since being invited as a featured performer to one back in February 2012. So, when YG2D founder Ned Buskirk asked me to make a contribution to the record, I wanted to do something special.

"I'm Not Coming Home (For Christmas)" is a new song I wrote and recorded exclusively for this album. I hope you'll take a moment to listen, and consider purchasing this compilation, as YG2D is one of the most phenomenally worthwhile things I've discovered since re-locating to the Bay Area.

#Christmas

#Christmas is a pay-what-you-please holiday compilation presented by Ivy Hill Entertainment and Telefunken Elektroakustik to benefit Swords to Plowshares, a non-profit working to help veterans transition back into civilian life.

I recorded and arranged a new version of "O, Holy Night" specifically for this album which you are welcome to stream here, but if you enjoy it, please consider clicking through and purchasing the record as your contribution will benefit a very worthwhile cause.

Performer Magazine

Performer Magazine. December 2012.

I’m phenomenally self-satisfied to discover I’m featured in this month’s issue of Performer Magazine talking about my favorite guitar, The Loar LO-16. Great magazine. Great guitar. Seems fitting the twain should meet. Read the full issue online, here.
